Default Different types of poker

Currently, I'm only familiar with Texas Hold'em rules. I've played on truepoker and with friends via this game type, but I'd like to learn some of the other ways of playing.

I'm not looking for tips or anything, just the basic rules.

Learn 5 card draw.

That used to be the most widely played games before people started playing holdem on TV.

I'm in the same boat as Andy here. The only place i played poker was on some gaming website, playing strip poker. Done pretty well considering i didn't know the rules.

Also i just downloaded software from poker.com and had a quick game of Texas Hold'Em. Started with £200 and got upto £600, the blew the lot. Back to the drawing board i guess.

What's your question?

How do you play holdem, or how do you play another poker variation.

might be better off to start with 'normal' poker - 5 card draw - that will help prepare u for the ins and outs of other types of poker.

helps a lot for holdem, in that u realise the value of hands early.

havent gone into omaha yet, too wrapped up in holdem!

Glad to see that some people think Texas Holdem is easy to play - yes it is easy, but there is a lot more knowledge and skill that goes into the game as opposed to just luck
